Alas, another entry of daily happy. I shall skip the endless overused excuse of being hectic because of school. Nonetheless, today’s entry about daily happy is in a different approach.

I have always ponder if there is a flaw with Singapore’s education system. Do you think we study too much and did not have ample chance to apply what we have learn to real life settings? That is how I feel.

I had an opportunity lately to apply knowledge I picked up in school into real life settings. Recently, a good friend of mine that goes by the name of Kamelia, hey kamelia! a shout for you, you can check her online portfolio here and her blog here and her twitter here and her tumblr here. I’ll stop, I guess there’s no need to post her facebook profile or myspace profile or her address hah!

As I was saying, we decided to open a little business venture. Hey, don’t look down on us, everyone start small somewhere. I’ll release more information about this when we have finalized things. I’m glad I’m doing something useful in my life at this age.

Since I’m in Information Technology, I learn about computers including managing of databases. I managed to apply what I learned in school into this little business venture by drawing the database schema, normalized it into it’s third form and initialized it. Basically, I created a database which will store our customer and their order’s information.

The database is hosted off a server. I’m accessing it via HeidiSQL. In my opinion, this is better than keeping our records in a Microsoft Excel document and emailing each other to keep ourselves updated.

Hence, I feel happy that I did learn something useful after all in school.

On a side note, I am elated that I finally managed to upgrade my Macbook and my iMac to the lastest installment of the Mac OS X. Mac OS X Snow Leopard, 10.6.X and being a makeup enthusiast myself, I finally managed to grab my first makeup item from the famous MAC Cosmetics.

School has been amazing. I prefer my new class so much more. Lastly, I finally managed to give my blog a much needed new look!

“Urmmmmm it’s so good i can’t remember when i let my tongue taste this.”

I wonder, whose chocolate birthday cake is that in the fridge?

Who cares! As long as i can sank my teeth on it.

Well, I’m not that evil. I did ponder around thinking, why did someone buy a cake and there’s no celebration going on in the house. So i thought, it’s my brother’s girlfriend’s birthday? Why did he bring back the cake? Well, I’ll just… taste a little more of that heaven..

Then i’ll say,

NOT ME. I DIDN’T EAT THE CAKE.

If the need arises of course. Evidently, i didn’t eat all of it. There’s still plenty right now as I’m typing.

After a day or two passed by, it still doesn’t make sense to me. Why did he brought back the cake?

Then it hit me like a kid hit your fucking head with a baseball bat.

IT WAS MY BROTHER’S DAY 2 DAYS AGO.

And i chuckled. I couldn’t care less to be honest whilst still pinching a little bit of heaven into my mouth.

I can’t resist the awesomeness that engulfed me.

Well, i still didn’t wish him a happy birthday or happy belated birthday because I’m not close to him. You might think that it’s weird and awkward when you don’t talk to someone who is living under the same roof as you. Not exactly if you don’t see them everyday.

Birthday or no birthday. No big deal in this family. I didn’t get a cake for my birthday and i don’t really care. No one got me a present as well other than my parents which is my Macbook and my brother didn’t get anything as well. It hit me like aeons ago that nobody can afford what i want.

 

AHAHAHA I AM SUCH A SNOB.

 

Okay. Ignored that.

I want stuff like, my own apartment, a car and etcetera. Technically, no one can afford it. To me the most important thing is the thought. Like the cliche, annoying, goosebumps giving saying, the thought that counts. And nothing else matter. That explains why i get a little upset then i expect a wish, when they didn’t, from some people i know=x on my birthday.

Fine, i don’t talk to anyone in this family except for my mother. Yes, i know. Shut up.

As me, the ohh-so-great-wonderful one has always said,

“Education is of upmost importance.”

Yea right.

Honestly, I’m little flabbergasted and annoyed so I’m pissed at every teeny weeny thing that irritates me.

and CMSK draft was due yesterday i don’t feel the slightest urgency at all.

I’m still mentally tired. Not only from the term test but also i have my own little battle in my head.

2 major conflict in my head going on everyday. It’s probable that i might just snap one day and end up in IMH. It’s not as if it’s uncommon to see me in secluded area and break down suddenly.

 

That’s why i prefer to keep myself busy and pretend i don’t have to face it

And i should stop using profanity words. It’s not really nice. I don’t think it suits me as well. It’s so hooligan like and i hate it if someone ever ever ever associate me with being a hooligan and it’s plausible upon seeing the color of my hair.

Did i tell you guys how i love using macintosh? With their latest operating system, Macintosh OS X Leopard, it has time machine and it works seamlessly with my time capsule. In another words time machine will automatically makes backup of my macbook every 1 hour. HOW AWESOME? I don’t have to worry anymore about losing my project. Everything is inside the damn freakin’ time capsule!

Anyways, today during CMSK, kok’s laptop kinda hang while he was doing his presentation and i was like muttering under my breath, this wouldn’t happen if you bought a mac. LOLOL.

I really really want an AMERICAN ACCENT. Period. I kinda rarely use Singlish. And i tried to slang a little when i talk. But i think my english sucks big time!

Some time back then, somewhere around my birthday, i got a macbook as a gift. I was hyperventilating when i heard the doorbell and squeaked, ‘Ohh my macbook is here!’

Apple Inc has great service. My mum ordered the macbook for me in the afternoon and that night they delivered it.

Anyways, i demanded Apple’s Time Capsule after that. $400+! And it’s only 500GB. The 1TB cost like $700+ My macbook is $1800+

At first when i saw it, there was like some chinese characters on the frontbox and i was like ‘ What the fuck. Some china made fake apple product?’ I mean like China made so many fake stuff like the iPhone and the fake Egg i read on stomp.

I’m so getting the iPhone once it’s out. I’m gonna sell my Nokia N82 even though i’ve been a loyal nokia user ever since my first handphone! The one without colour! Ahh Yes Nokia 3315.

I’ve been looking around to trying to find some cheap skin for my macbook. The cheapest i saw was $20. The most expensive skin that i saw is $59. I’m tempted to get the cheap skin BUT BUT BUT.. Good things don’t come cheap and we all know that really. I’m sure the $20 is made from some cheap material and it is merely just to add some design to the macbook and thats all.

You know.. there is not free lunch in this world.

Anyways i found this garskin. Their price is about $49. The skin that they provide has 4 different types of resistance. Static, Sweat, Splash and Scratch resistance. And why that shouldn’t be worth $49? Does the $20 skin has those resistance? I don’t know. >_>

I found 3 skin that i like and i can’t made up my mind which i want.

Aren’t they nice? Are they too feminine? I think I’m getting Overgrowth because it has a white background. My macbook is white so when i use overgrowth it will be like as if those design kinda grow suddenly. If i use the Gradient/Blazing Out, it will look pretty obvious that i stick some kind of sticker on it.
