Daily Happy #6

21/01/2010

I’m actually typing this entry whilst Mr David, my Mobile Device Programming teacher, is talking.

Recently, I acquire a certain product that promised whiter teeth. As usual, I was quite skeptical about it.

But lord behold, after six hours of using it, my teeth is definitely whiter!

As the days go by, I’ve been using it and my teeth has been so white to the extent that the whiteness looks fake. Nonetheless, I LOVE IT.

I’m in love with the whiteness and of course utterly happy.

Daily Happy #1

19/11/2009

I started a new category on my blog since I decided to be more optimistic. It’s called “Daily Happy”. Basically, each day, I’ll make a post in this category about what made me happy.

I smiled genuinely for the first time in months. That made me happy.

What made you happy today?

Five ways to be happier right now

21/08/2008

A list of 5 things that will make you a happier individual.

The first is a little bit cliche but important and it’s the realization that happiness comes from inside yourself and not the things around you. For example you can’t find happiness in a pair of jeans, a glass of vodka or in a boyfriend or girlfriend as many people might try to. As happiness or being happier or i should say have a lot to do with what you choose to process the world. So it’s really comes down to your perspective in a lot of cases. So that’s number one.

Number two, is realize that happiness isn’t a lack of desires and it’s not what occurs when all of your needs are met. I think that people tend to be happier when they’re working towards their goal that bring meaning and pleasure and purpose into their life and not necessarily satisfying those goals. A perfect example would be an athlete that is working towards a 6 minute mile and once they achieve the 6 minute mile, it’s like have they achieve happiness? Well no, so it’s not about your wants getting satisfied. Important to keep in mind.

Number three, happiness isn’t a destination it’s a process. This one i think it’s very important. You can’t arrive at happiness it’s not like today i arrived at happiness and i can’t be any happier then i am today. It is the continuing which we work through and we can work towards becoming happier or making choices that makes us happier in our life. That is a good thing but your goal can’t really be happiness it should be, be  happier.

Number four is we tend to be happier when we do things that bring a combination of pleasure and purpose in our lives. And the pleasure is something that makes us happy now and the purpose is stuff that provide future benefits. While going shopping will make us happy now, it doesn’t bring purpose to our life. Some might argue it does but let’s be real. Like wise, saving up a lot of money will bring you future benefits, it does not bring pleasure at this moment. If we can find things that brings us both pleasure and meaning those are the things the tend to make us happier.

And the number 5 would be realizing that your so-called mistakes were learning experiences and that were all indispensable in bringing you into this moment and of course which exactly where you need to be and i think that when we remind ourselves of that, we can move into the direction of letting go some of the hatred or anger or regret that we might have because if we hold on to hatred and anger, hatred and anger, you’re gonna invite more hatred and anger into your life and that’s what you have to give to other people. So the sooner we make the decision to let of hatred and anger, the sooner we can invite more love and peace into our lives. And you could make the decisions right now, yes you could. It’s not that I’m waiting for you to make it but it might be nice.

Time to move on.

7/07/2008

I was waiting for the Bus No. 5 at the bus stop somewhere around the SAFRA and i saw KarYee and Christina.

I didn’t really like had a chat with them because they went up of the double decker bus while i stayed down because i merely need to hang on for 2 stops. I should have gone up! Both of then are in TP. I saw Sophia the other day at TP’s Business Cafeteria. Amelia is in the child psychologist course. What about XinYi and MayChin?!

Christina reminds me of the times that i spent in the choir. I used to stand in the backrow with Christina, Shishan and Yiling i think. And we would like give our 110%? Really and we would try to sing loudly and christina is like great man! Motivational person! And we would always get drown by the other groups of ‘na na na’.

And KarYee! I remember secondary 2, she was a great artist and she always bring sweets to school! Ohh well time to move on. I get pretty emotional thinking about this but when i think about it again, who still does get emotional like this like me?

I bet everyone has move on and settle down into their new class in junior college, polytechnic or institute of technical education. I bet they’re having so much fun with their new classmates.

I’m a pretty tensed up person. Every time i’m out of my comfort zone, i get so tensed up and i hate it. And i have no self confidence at all. Ohh wait, what am i suppose to be confident of? Nothing. I did something dumb today and i hate myself for doing it without thinking of the consequences.

I don’t understand with the way people react. It is just odd and contradicts the observation that i’ve made.
